QUESTION:

Assuming I have flown less than 40 HRS since my last inspection (Event 1 & 2) what will be required to be done for this years inspection?

ANSWER:

The minimum required will be the Event 1 & 2 to comply with the Annual requirements. 

The Piper Program requires an Event "cycle" be completed in the past 12 calendar months.

The Piper Program consists of two (2) events (#1 Event & #2 Event) in each cycle.  The "Cycle Clock" is reset on the date the Event #2 is accomplished.  

Events are due every 100 hours of flight. 

 

QUESTION:

What are the height monitoring test flight (HMU) requirements for aircraft equipped with RVSM?

ANSWER: 

The FAA has recently announced the requirements for the HMU flight are; two (2) year (24 Mos) or 1,000 HRS whicher is later.  For most operators this will mean every 1,000 flight hours.

This check is not required if a "Mode S" transponder is installed.
